ALB and ILB diverted from Helicopter exercise to 10mtr yacht reported to be making water 1 mile South of Southend pier with 3 persons onboard, craft pumped dry and no further ingress of water, casualty went to anchor with 1 Lifeboat crewmember remaining onboard whilst ALB/ILB continued Helio ex, upon completion, ALB returned to casualty & checked yacht, no further ingress of water, leak found to be leaking stern gland which had been repaired, no further assistance required. 1135 - 1410. ILB launched to the Two yachts aground on Burntwick Island, ILB stood by 1st yacht until there was suffient water to refloat the craft and tow her into deeper water, once in main channel, the craft proceeded to Queenborough hbr under her own power. ILB returned to 2nd yacht, but after several attempts was unable to refloat the craft, yacht made secure and occupant taken off, where he was landed at Queenborough Harbour. 0042 - 0402. SW 3/4. |

ALB launched to 65ft Ex-German Torpedo recovery launch, with two persons onboard, with steering failure and reported to be making water, casualty on passage from Faversham to the River Humber, casualty lost generator overboard and lost communications, position given as near the Red Sand towers but on route to casualty this was updated to near the Spaniard buoy, casualty fired a red flare to identify position, casualty located and was towed to the safety of Queenborough Hbr.
